Alexander Pierangioli
Founder & Wine Expert
Alessandro was born and raised in Montalcino, a town where his family has lived for many generations. From an early age he began helping his parents in the family wine shop-first in Siena, then since 1994 also in Montalcino, together with his brother Antonio.
After studying accounting, he worked for several companies in the area, taking care of vineyard work including pruning, vine cleaning and harvesting. In 1997, almost by chance, he started as a driver in Montalcino and, combining his love of the area and wine, he organized his first wine tours.
Since 2012 he has started a collaboration with Montalcino Wine Tours, of which he is now a partner together with Giovanni and his wife Chiara.
Since 2022 he has officially owned Enoteca Pierangioli, which he runs with his father Sergio, brother Antonio and eldest son Lorenzo. Over the years he has visited dozens of wineries in Italy and around the world, developing a deep knowledge of wine in all its facets. He considers himself a great enthusiast and an authentic ambassador of the Montalcino territory.
In his spare time he enjoys listening to music, running, biking in the Tuscan hills, and traveling.
Chiara Antoni
Driver, Sommelier & Wine Expert
Chiara was born and raised in Montalcino, with roots also in Monte Amiata and the Maremma. Her passion for wine was born working for one of the most representative wineries in Montalcino, an experience that taught her to listen and understand what is in the glass. From that encounter with the world of wine, her passion grew to become a certified sommelier.
A few years later she decided to change career paths completely, approaching the world of wine tours – where she also met her husband Alessandro. What she loves most about her job is the opportunity to discover new corners of the territory every day and to meet people who come to Montalcino from all over the world, sharing with them her passion for Italy, its wines, its products and its landscapes.
In addition to wine, Chiara is passionate about cooking, regional products, live music, nature, travel and reading.
Ivan
Driver & Wine Expert
Ivan is from Rovereto, in northern Italy, and has a long career in the restaurant and hospitality world behind him, from bars at the foot of ski slopes to seaside resorts in Tuscany. His curiosity led him to live in Ireland, where he learned English, and Australia, where he spent two years exploring the country in a van. He also had the opportunity to discover extraordinary corners of South America and Southeast Asia.
In 2018 he moved near Montalcino, where he lives with his partner and two daughters. Here he discovered a new passion: Sangiovese. Spending three years at one of Montalcino’s most historic and renowned wineries, he delved into every nuance of this extraordinary wine. Today, sharing this passion with visitors is what excites him most: every tour, every meeting, is an opportunity for him to tell about the territory and its wines.
In his spare time, he loves exploring nature, listening to good music and discovering new flavors.
Carlotta
Driver & Wine Expert
Carlotta was born and raised in Siena, within the city’s medieval walls – as she herself likes to recall, she was “born on the stones.” She belongs to the Contrada dell’Istrice and grew up with a great passion for sports: from swimming to athletics to cycling and hiking, which remain among her greatest passions.
Wine came into his life when she started her career as a professional driver and guide. During a sommelier course she met Chiara, starting a collaboration that lasts to this day. Since then Montalcino has become her second home: the Val d’Orcia, with its hills and views, is for her one of the most beautiful corners of the world.
Working in this area allows her to share her passion for wine, landscapes and the unique experiences that each visit can give guests on a daily basis.
Marco
Driver & Wine Expert
Marco was born in Bergamo and, since 2021, has moved to Montalcino with his wife, seeking more contact with nature.
He is an outdoor sports enthusiast: he loves hiking in the mountains, long walks on the beach, and bike rides in the hills of the area. He loves traveling and experiencing with authenticity the new cultures he encounters. He is very curious about new culinary experiences and trying everything that is different from his own culture-he hardly backs down.
He always tries to attend events related to the area he visits to learn more about cultures other than his own, from crafts to local traditions.
Before coming to Montalcino, he worked for 11 years in the clothing industry, which is also a great passion of his. Therefore he is very interested in Italian craftsmanship: leather, clothes, accessories and fashion in general.
From 2021 to 2025 he worked at the Demeter Inn, owned by his friend and his two brothers.
Today he is ready for a new experience.
